The Joy of Minimalism: Simplifying Your Life and Finding Freedom
Minimalism isn't about having fewer things or a minimal wardrobe. It's about living with as little clutter, stress, and drama as possible. It's about finding joy in simplifying your life by cutting out unnecessary things. This doesn't mean giving up the things you love, but it does mean making a conscious decision to focus on the things that bring you joy.
STEP 1: Cut Out Things That Take Up Time, Not Space
The first thing you need to do is cut out things that take up space and cause clutter. Keep an open mind here. If it looks like you're keeping it to yourself, chances are you don't actually need it. If you can't part with a certain item, ask yourself whether or not you need it, and whether you've been using it for longer than a year.
STEP 2: Go through Every Room and Make It Clean
Go through every room of your home, apartment, or office and make it clean and tidy. Don't be too hard on yourself. Do the smallest task at a time, and then move onto the next.
STEP 3: Do What You Love and Let Everything Else Follow
Once you've cleared out everything that takes up space and causes clutter, do what you love most. That might be working out, reading, playing video games, spending time with friends, or whatever you feel passionate about. Set aside your to-do list and don't worry about what comes next.
Once you're finished doing what you love, your life will be filled with less things and much more joy.
Simplicity lies in the way of thinking
