Delizia: A Proof That Everything Is Better With Cryptocurrency, Even Food
Even though I have always been a heavy reader, both as a fellow bookworm and a news follower, I must admit that I have never done as much reading as I have since I find myself in the vast world of cryptocurrency. Normally there would be no complains but there is a point where your "interest" starts to overpower other aspects of your life and for that I have only the exciting new innovations to blame and the brilliant minds behind them. And here I am, writing as an attempt to relieve my mind from the thrills caused by a brand-new project: Delizia. As the name recalls (Delizia ~ Delicious), it is a project about food and of course cryptocurrency; and although the latter is virtual, the former is not.
Delizia wants to automize the in-house order process in restaurants, bars and food & beverage service locations of any kind. This plan brings up to mind two types of applications that are already exist. The first type covers the applications for delivery or takeout orders. There are several quiet famous options for this purpose and they serve as the proof of the user demand for a rather universal application. Given the choice, customers go with a single application where they can access more locations. The second type is the touch screen user interfaces we see in service locations for ordering. This proves the demand within the service industry to automize the ordering process. Delizia finds the opening in the market right between these two applications and fills the void by using the advantages of both for its purpose.
In a nutshell, Delizia is a multiplatform app on which business owners can list their locations, display their in-house menus, take orders and receive payment; customers, on the other hand, can browse through locations and menus, preorder, pay, earn back and rate. As explained widely in the Whitepaper, a universal app offers several benefits for the business side; some of which are the same benefits relevant to the entire service industry and proven beneficial by different apps used in f&b, hospitality, retail etc. Wider and better targeted visibility and advertisement opportunities, improved process tracking and efficiency are among the most notable benefits. The customer side, on the other hand, receives access to a more extensive catalog in one place and an improved mechanism to browse, sort and compare. With Delizia, customer makes his dining decision at his own pace which otherwise needs to be done in a limited time after sitting down and receiving the menu. This is even more beneficial with pre-ordering, especially for larger groups or when time is a concern.
Cryptocurrency comes into the equation for online payment and loyalty point systems. Unlike many other cryptocurrency-based applications that either forcing a certain cryptocurrency or at best providing only crypto to crypto exchange; Delizia offers in-app crypto to fiat and fiat to crypto exchange. In my opinion the worst handicap of cryptocurrency industry lies in the crypto-fiat exchange which clogs liquidity as it is costly, slow and overall inefficient. Applications with in-app exchange functions can overpass that and be more suitable for an at least mid-term future where cryptocurrency and fiat are going to coexist. Furthermore, by not forcing cryptocurrency, Delizia opens itself to the entire market which means a further step on the way to cryptocurrency mass adoption. The system operates on a PIVX based blockchain with POS and Masternode mining.
