Daniel was a man described as possessing "the spirit of the holy gods. " In Daniel's time also, the king dreamt and could not remember his dream nor understand what it meant. He called on all his magicians, astrologers, sorcerers and Chaldeans to tell him what his dream was and to give the interpretation, but they could not. In fact, they acknowledged thus:
And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. Daniel 2:11
As a result, the king commanded that all the wise men in Babylon be destroyed. Daniel and his three other colleagues would have been affected by this decree, so they went to God (or an answer. Remember:
For what man knoweth the things ofa man, save the spirit ofman which is in him even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. I Corinthians 2:11
So, the Spirit of God, that Excellent Spirit came on display Daniel, and gave him the interpretation! in
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision...
1 thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter...
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days... Daniel 2:19, 23, 27-28

The excellent Spirit of God at work in Daniel was able to solve the problem!
In chapter five of Daniel came another troubling event, when a mysterious hand wrote on the wall. Again, the king and all his men could not read the handwriting or tell what it meant. King Belshazzar was greatly troubled by this mystery. But thank God for the queen, who came in and said:
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. Daniel 5.11-12
The king sent for Daniel, and the gift of God in him answered. All the exploits he did were traceable to this unique spirit in him. See where it took him:
Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Daniel 6:3
You also have this spirit dwelling in you, if you are redeemed. All you need do is to put it to work.
