POTTAGE VS BIRTHRIGHT(SERIES) A must read. Ep 03
Good day Steemchurch everyone hope we are doing fine. Welcome to episode 3 of
POTTAGE VS BIRTHRIGHT
THE OCCUPATION
Now, get set as we begin to look at the occupation of these two boys and how it had a spell on their destinv.
And the boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field: and Jacob was a tain man dwellin in tent.
Genesis 25:27
Hallelujah! The boys grew from childhood into manhood. It was such that their actions or decisions would not be based on immaturity. They have to grow to a state of maturity to be able to take vital decisions pertaining to their destiny. Beloved, as the two boys grew, so I see your ministry, business, and family grow. See, the decisions you begin to take now will determine the future of that your ministry, business or family.
Esau's Occupation
...And Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of thefield (verse 27).
Esau was a hunter. He goes about chasing and killing animals for food. It was said categorically that he was a cunning (skilful) hunter. He is solely concern with either killing the animals in the forest for food or capturing alive, only to kill at home for food. Thus, he was very skillful in his hunting adventures. As a matter of fact, he knows all the skills to use in hunting for games.
See, there was a problem with Esau's mentality and not just his type of occupation. He had a kill and eat mentality. That is, a hand to mouth mentality. Anything that comes to his hands, he kills and eats. He never primed his mind towards saving for the rainy day. We would later see that his trouble came as a result of his mentality or approach to life and not necessarily on the nature ofhis occupation.
As a matter of fact, the Bible calls him a man of the field". He had so much opportunity to utilize the treasure or wealth of the forest. Greatness was awaiting him to tap into. His problem was that he never had tomorrow in view. He was a man of today without provision for the future .A man of the moment with a fire-brigade mentality.

Beloved, do you have Esau's mentality or not? Is your mentality based on kill and eat and nothing more? How is your approach to life? Do you believe in consuming all you have today without recourse to the future? See, your greatness or meanness is resident in your mentality. That is, on your approach to life. I am of the opinion that: Ideals are the raw materials for creating wealth. Greatness doesn't just fall on your laps, but you must take your laps to the place where greatness falls. It is not enough to have a good job, a thriving business, a prospering ministry, a lovely home and so on. You must learn to employ the wisdom of God to maintain and attain the greatest height God intended for you, lest you crash land.
Scripture speaking:
Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and with alt thy getting; get understanding.
Proverbs 4:7
The scripture enjoins us that wisdom is the basic thing. It follows that despite whatsoever you have, or doing now that seems pleasant, you still need a high sense of wisdom to attain your fullness. See, lack of proper application of wisdom will crumble all you have put together.
One Michael Spencer once made a philosophical statement: "I prefer my mind to be open to ideas than to be closed to belief'.

my pastor once said: "Show me a man whose mind is open to ideas, and I will show you a man who will shift the boundary of knowledge"
See, it is not in the strength of your job but in the strength of your skill or strategy towards your job.
Strategy is stronger than energy. It is have said that Goliath had energy but David had strategy
I speak to a businessman; it is not the strength of your investment but the strength of your strateot towards your investments that would determine profit maximization.
Beloved, if you are parading a consumer's mentality, you will have your future consumed at last. See, the true test of the strength of a man is wisdom (that is the wisdom of God).
Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with atl precious and pleasant riches.

A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shatt make thy war: and in the multitude of counselors, there is safety.
Proverbs 24:3-6
The above text clearly strengthened the essence of wisdom in determining one's destiny.

Good message @iksilva, wisdom gives us knowledge, but knowledge alone, does not give us wisdom.
