THE KINGDOM OF CONTRADICTIONS PART 2steemCreated with Sketch.

Every kingdom is established upon principles, principles embedded in the ruler of the kingdom and his people. Kingdoms are known for particular traits exhibited either by her citizens as individuals or by the entire kingdom as a single unit. Kings demand that their followers act in certain ways. A contravention will be seen as a disregard for the laws of the kingdom. Kings issue decrees, and in union with their cabinets, formulate laws for the right conduct of their people.

In the history of humanity, kingdoms and empires have risen and fallen. Kings and emperors have lived and reigned; some were considered good while some considered bad; some were seen as progressives and loving while others were seen as tyrannical; whereas some kings were loved by their subjects, others were dreaded. Some were "travel agent" Kings telling their people what to do and where to go, but never being part of the journey, while others were ''tour guide" kings, accompanying the people along the journey with their examples. In all, the memories of some kings with their kingdoms have lived on, while the memories of some have faded into complete oblivion. Some kings with their kingdoms were vanquished by other kings or emperors and everything about them was obliterated and they just faded into the labyrinth of history. Today, what we have of the memory of some kings with their kingdoms are hazy and can best be described as legends. We can comfortably attribute all these to what scripture says that "There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens." (Eccl 3:1)

All kings and emperors, all kingdoms and empires that have risen and fallen or are still standing have always had something in common: they were governed by worldly standards. However, there came a king in time whose kingdom has not faded and will never fade. His was not a kingdom of this world, so it could not be affected by the laws of nature. This king is Jesus and his kingdom is one of contradictions, contradictions in virtually all ramifications to the kingdoms of this world. While the kingdoms of this world rise and fall, his kingdom will never fall, because it is an eternal kingdom, ''and of his kingdom, there will be no end". (Lk 1:33)
