Red Symphony - City Colors
At the end of the light's visible spectrum figures the Red color. Next to orange and opposite violet, the red color has a wavelength of approximately 625–740 nanometres. It's the complementary color of Cyan.
The red color is the first used in prehistoric art. Mayas and ancient Egyptians used red color for coloring their faces during ceremonies. Roman generals painted their body in red for celebrating victories. In China, the red color is very important. It was used to color pottery and later for painting the walls of palaces. Red is also the color of revolution. Almost all communist countries adopted the Red color for their flags, like the ex USSR, China, Vietnam and so on.
Red is the color of blood, therefore it is associated with passion, sacrifice, violence, danger, courage, and extreme situations. Red is also the color that usually symbolizes sexuality, heat, love, and joy. In many Asian countries like China and India, the red color is symbolizing good fortune and happiness.
