We have moved from using animals as a means of transportation to wheeled carts, then moved into ships and boats then an introduction of steem powered engines, and trains and then motor vehicles. This process has taken lots of years but it has made transportation easier and faster. Wonder how many months it took people to cross continents then compared to now which takes few hours to cross over. This evolution has also brought in a lot of effects to the well-being of the people, it has brought increase in the rate of cancer, depletion of the ozone layer and pollution to the environment. This satisfies the statement that "To every advantage there is a disadvantage".

Fuel-powered vehicle is the most common used vehicle in the world, even with the introduction of electric cars it still holds its place as the easiest car for people to get access to. In this modern world I view fuel-powered vehicle in the same way, it all goes down to the rate of development of the state. In a state where there's inadequate provision of electricity, it will be difficult to use an electric vehicle.

In the modern world, the role of fuel-powered vehicles are gradually degrading because people now give much attention to environmental concerns regarding the use of fuel vehicles, the design, the trend, and lots more. Moreover fuel-powered vehicles still has lots of importance in the modern world which are;

• Firm Infrastructures
  The availability of all the infrastructures needed for the longevity and easy access of these fuel-powered vehicles is always available, like the fuel stations, repair stations, and good road networks which has always made it possible to move through crooks and crannies using fuel-powered vehicles.

• Heavy-duty use
  Fuel-powered vehicles are mostly used for heavy work, especially in agriculture, most or all of those tractors and trucks are fuel-powered. So the use of fuel powered vehicles has made it easier to carry out a lot of heavy duty work.

• Ability to achieve long KM
  With the availability of fuel stations in many places it is always easy for fuel-powered vehicles to go long distances.

When the electric cars were introduced people were satisfied with it, moving on with time they discovered how it impacted the environment, which they found a way to replace the fuel-powered vehicles by introducing the electric cars.

First we will look at the negative environmental effect the fuel-powered vehicles has before we consider its positive form.

• Pollution
  Fuel-powered vehicles emits alot of pollutants like, carbon monoxide and other volatile organic components which has caused harm to its environment and has made it not to be environmental friendly

• Depletion of ozone layer
  The release of harmful gases like carbon dioxide (CO2) leads to the depletion of the ozone which gives free passage of harmful radiation from the sun, which also causes climate change.

• Birthing Wastes
  Fuel powered vehicles has generated lots of waste which has been very harmful to the environment. Like used vehicle oils if poured to rivers where aquatic life exists, it becomes poisonous to the aquatic life.

With all these negative effect, fuel-powered vehicle also has positive effects. As I said for every advantage there's a disadvantage.

• Recycling
  Many parts in a fuel-powered vehicles can be recycled and sold in a cheap price as spare parts. Rather than dumping them there can still serve for years again.

• Alternative use
  Fuel-powered vehicles can also run on different kind of fuels, like what is being introduced recently, the generators that run on fuel can now run on petrol, diesel or CNG.

With all these we could notice that fuel-powered vehicles are not that environmental friendly. It has caused a lot of pollution which has affected the health of so many and has also been one of the major causes of climate change.

Since it was formed by dead plants and animals which then turned fossils fuels, I think over the years dead plants and animals are also decomposed deep down in the earth which will also turn to fuels. Since it is a non-renewable energy once it is overused over a long period of time they will definitely disappear from the earth.

The use of fossil fuels are already reducing because people have made alternatives. We used to use a kind of fuel, like the kerosene for cooking purposes but it has been replaced with electric coolers and so on. Now the consumption of the kerosene has drastically fallen. If this is fully adopted in the vehicle aspect, the use of fuels will be reduced.

Many countries have adopted the use of electric cars for transportation and has made available charging points for easy charging of these electric cars. If more production is carried out it will gradually replace the use of fuel vehicles and at the same time reduce pollution and climate change. There are no exceptions to how we can reduce the use of fossil fuels in vehicles.
