My thoughts...

Whatever the dynamics, when you see one person join/leave a community, in a way that pisses on everyone in that community, then proceed to fight against the will of the majority interest in that community, with lots of chaos ensuing, there's some psychopathy involved.

You can learn a lot by studying the things that a person brings into your life when they enter it and the things they leave behind when they depart.

Nonetheless, I'm here to express my opinion as a Steem developer.

So many lines have been crossed in the last 24 hours or so... I can't even go into the details.

If we can manage, this is a great opportunity to start "afresh" and build a platform that's community-centric, without conflicting business interests.

• No large stakeholders with counterproductive orientations.
• No exchange accounts with voting rights.
• No dictator style development, where independent innovation is discouraged, ignored or thwarted.

As a developer, I just want to make it clear that the current state of the "Steem blockchain" does not live up to the ideas/principles that make blockchains valuable in the first place, and I WILL NOT write code for it as it is (whatever it is now), nor support it. I am only making this post here because I know many community members will see it, but it honestly doesn't feel like I'm making an immutable statement to the world.

My skills will support a community-supported, sufficiently decentralized blockchain. In other words, I will use my skills to support a fork, if it comes to that.

Personally, I feel there's no going back from this point. Too many lines have been crossed. Any intelligent way forward involves a fresh start, with major changes in effect.

P.S. You can never erase the ideas that Steem was predicated on and you cannot undo the enlightenment from countless eyes, ears and minds that have been opened. The code is still there. It's just not being run as it should. That can change.
