Hello There! I am a musician/ skateboarder/ wildland firefighter (nice to meet you!)
Hello there all you creative individuals, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joe, and I've been in love with sound for as long as I can remember, been playing instruments since I was 9 (started on alto sax), and have gone on to teach myself a handful of other instruments (guitar, drums, piano, bass guitar, synthesizer, and drum machines/samplers). I love music, sound, and the recording process more than anything. I write and record my own music under the name INADRM (going to release first album soon) and I play synthesizer and write for the band Metaphys. Haven't released anything as band yet, but I will share when we do which should be soon.
I've also been skateboarding since I was 9. It's taught me how to get up after a failure, a skill I have found to be essential to everything. I tore my ACL in 2012 but have since started learning that it's ok to not be as good as I once was. I can't do what I once could, but I still enjoy riding.
And I used to work as a type 2 wildland firefighter but had to quit due to lung issues from smoke inhalation. My favorite, and least favorite part, was the traveling. It was my favorite job.
Also, this guy is a big part of my life. Helps me with alot of the issues I face, I love him most. His name is Thunder and he is a pitbull/ golden retriever mix that I got from the shelter. I am very grateful to have gotten to him in time.
So how are you all doing today? What are your interests? Are you as excited as me to be living in these times with these tools? Any tips for me on how to best use this site if I plan on posting more? I hope the best for you all, will continue to view your content and enjoy my time on this site. It is nice to meet you all.

Thank you for the simple and straightforward advice, that helps me put my focus in the right direction. #2 is a goal I won't forget.
Thanks for taking the time to look through my post, I wasn't sure if I had a decent job or not. I will continue to look around and learn from others while staying original.
I will check that out right now, thanks alot, I'm sure it will be useful to me.
Welcome! I agree with the others, you did a great job on your intro. I love your music just like it is, but it also made me think of another area where you could make a few changes and it would sell well. The long into would be great (minus the scratching and voice) to use in self hypnosis, subliminal and binaural beats recordings. I know a guy that is making a couple thou a month selling his. I use to make all those recordings and there is a big demand for good backing music.
Thank you, I am glad my first post worked out. I am very happy that you liked my music, thank you for listening.
It is interesting that you bring that up. I have always wondered on how to get into that market. That has always been my weak point, marketing myself. I also study psychology in my free time and am interested in all aspects of the mind. The way that the mind reacts to sound fascinates me.
Have you studied about binaural beats and isochronic tones. There are free scripts available that will allow you to make them on your computer. http://lunarsight.com brings the frequencies of many different sources together in one location. You will find some overlap. That is because there has not yet been enough research for everyone to agree on.
As for the marketing aspect, 10 years ago, I could have told you exactly what to do. I had 17 websites each making a good bit of money each month. But I gave it up after a severe auto accident. By the time I came back, just this past year, everything had changed, so I am not a good person to give you advice on that part. Keep searching Google. I have been learning many new things since I came back and I have found free or very low cost classes for almost everything I need to learn. It takes effort to find the free ones, they they are out there for almost anything you want to learn.
As for setting a website up, there are addons for Wordpress that allows you to sell digital download. Some of them are free but there is a good chance you might have to pay a little to get exactly what you need. I have never set one up but did some research on it last year. It is not extremely expensive to do it.
