Hong Kong Universities Raise $ 20 Million in Blockchain Research

Hong Kong is working hard to set up a Blockchain project as part of its technological innovation efforts. The Japanese Science and Technology University's business school in Japan has secured a $ 20 million research grant to improve the security capabilities of electronic payment systems using Blockchain technology.

Collaboration with three other academic institutions

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has signed a partnership with University of Hong Kong (HKU), Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK) and City University of Hong Kong (CityU) to conduct a research project.

Professor Tan Jiayin , known for his work on "Strengthening Hong Kong's strategic position as a regional and international business center , " will be responsible for coordinating the interdisciplinary research project.

He will have to focus more on Blockchain, Network Security and Artificial Intelligence.

Speaking about developments in artificial intelligence, Tan Jiayin said:

"For market analysis, for example, text may be invisible. If it corresponds to the image, the eyes, and the tone of the interlocutor, the speed can be analyzed, and the real-time analysis can be done in the future, just like a lie detector. "

Hong Kong as a global hub of financial technologies
