Kik abandons Ethereum to move to Stellar
The leaders of Kik reported that the platform will move from Blockchain Ethereum Stellar. The application of decentralized instant messaging would have decided to rely on Stellar for reasons of speed.
Ethereum begins to be saturated
Ethereum will lose a significant partner with the transfer of Kik to Stellar (exclusively). Announced on their corporate blog, this turnaround is due to the slow pace of Ethereum, which once had the best assets (with smart applications and effective decentralization) but in view of its current pace, it could no longer follow the rhythm.
Kik developers have tested the platform with 10,000 users, which has slowed down the system to completely saturate it, while Kik now has more than 300 million users.
In addition, transaction costs related to the Blockchain Ethereum seem to disrupt the leaders since the cost would have risen to $ 1.80.
Why Stellar?
Kik has always been interested in the technical progress of the Blockchain , and when the team was able to collect $ 100 million in 2007, he announced the partnership with Ethereum for its qualities of extensibility. In 2018, a new hybrid system was used by implementing Stellar, which was more reliable in terms of speed.
As an explanation of Ethereum's abandonment to Stellar, Kin's CEO said "a Kin on a Blockchain is our vision, and our strategy continues to evolve as we We are working on setting up an infrastructure that supports this. "
