Disney has confirmed that the new saga Star Wars Resistance, an animated series produced by Dave Filoni, which is also responsible for other animated Lucasfilm series: Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars, is already very close.
According to Gizmodo.com, the story is based on a young resistance pilot, Kazuda Xiono, who was recruited by General Leia Organa to carry out a secret mission.
Star Wars Resistance will not focus on the mystical side of Star Wars, or the Sith or the Jedi. On this occasion the story of the young Kazuda Xiono, who has great interest in the pilots of the Second World War and his grandfather, who was also a pilot, will be told.
Resistance, which is inspired by Japanese anime, tells the story of the Resistance just before the events of The Force Awakens.
The series includes Christopher Sean (Hawaii Five-0), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Scott Lawrence (Avatar), Suzie McGrath (Eastenders), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Josh Brener ( Silicon Valley), Rachel Butera (Family Guy) and Jim Rash (Community), along with other new characters.
Star Wars Resistance will be released in the United States in the fall of this year and will be aired on the Disney Channel.
