FIRE Dividend Tree Update (July & August 2018)

I decided to transfer few holdings from my growth portfolio over to the FIRE Dividend Portfolio due to their nice yields which are the following:

Qualcomm(QCOM)
Global X Lithium and Battery Tech ETF (LIT)
Raytheon (RTN)
Energy Transfer Partners (ETP)

Heres a simple chart showing my holdings for the FIRE portfolio.

There were 8 buy orders for the 2 months.

There were 2 sell orders.

Actual dividends I received for the following months are the following:

The dividend for July was only $295.19 but the month of August totalled $628.39. The two transactions for EPD and ETP were not actually dividend payments. Due to the merger agreement between ETP and ETE, shareholders received 1.28 ETE common units in exchange of ETP shares.

Qualcomm (QCOM) announced an additional 10 billion share buyback as well as settled a 774 million antitrust dispute with Taiwan regulators for only 93 million. I never liked the NXP acquisition attempt and thankfully the deal fell through resulting in a nice price increase during the months.

Progress Report

The progress report shows August actual dividend of $432.25 which is minus the return of capital from the merger between ETE and ETP.

I have noticed many people around me in my life do not know what FIRE means. FIRE is an acronym for (F)inancial (I)ndependance (R)etirement (E)arly. It seems to be a growing trend amongst a select growing group of people who desire to reach this goal of financial freedom. My purpose for this blog is for life beyond FIRE as well as to share my life lessons. I hope to learn together as a community and share ideas and inspire each other.
