Photography: The Pine Tree Merkussi
The Pine Tree merkusii Jungh. et de Vriese is a type of pine that grows native to the Indonesian territory and was first discovered by the name "Tusam" in Sipirok area, South Tapanuli by a German botanist Dr. F. R. Junghuhn.
In addition to including fast growing species (fast growing species), this type of pine is a type of pine that does not require the conditions of a special place of growing so easy to be cultivated even in a dry place.
Not only the wood that can be utilized, NTFP type of sap produced by Pinus merkusii can also be processed into gondorukem and turpentine. Both of these pineapple distillation processed products are very useful as raw materials in various industries. Therefore, Pinus merkusii is very potential to be cultivated.
