Only 29 percent of parents say they are confident or very confident their children's school can provide a high-quality education this fall. Conducted by Gallup between July 7 and August 5, 2020, this survey of 2000 parents of U.S. public school students suggests a material decline in families' faith in their local schools. Do these findings represent a fundamental shift in the relationship between local schools and parents? It's too early to tell, but what happens over the next few months will have a big impact on the answer.
