Ahmad Abu Hussein, a Palestinian journalist who was shot by Israeli troops while covering mass demonstrations along the Gaza border earlier this month, died.

The 24-year-old is a photographer working for Voice of the People. He was shot in the stomach while on duty covering protests near Jebaliya on April 13, 2018.

Hussein is the second Palestinian journalist killed by Israeli soldiers since a wave of demonstrations known as the "Great March of Return" began on March 30, 2018.

As quoted from Al Jazeera on Thursday (26/4/2018), the Ministry of Health of Gaza said that Hussein died on Wednesday at Tel Hashomer hospital, near Tel Aviv.

"On the same day, his body was taken to Al-Andalusi hospital in the Gaza Strip," said Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Gaza Strip.
