Food Stories or Why You Are Deep-Frying Even Air? (TOO MANY PHOTOS FOR ONE POST)

What I have noticed while making turns and twists across third-world-countries, is that their food is not only relatively cheap (when you are coming from the European country), bitingly spicy, but also incredibly fat. Imagine deep-fried meat, fish, even veggies, and nuts- this is what you get for 25 Indonesian rupiahs (which is over one euro).

I have come up with the need rather than a wish to explain this oddness. How silly of me?! It was just in front of my eyes, on the streets, near the beaches and parks. It was just in front of my eyes.

Poverty. Nowhere in the countries, I have been so far, I have seen little kids grabbing my jacket so desperately and showing this gesture of putting food into their mouths or asking for water. Of course, there are way more opportunists than anywhere else, but some things you just cannot fake.

Imagine you cannot afford eating three meals that have all necessary vitamins and daily calories intake. Imagine that everything you care about is not how to get fat, but how to get at least minimum of your daily calories intake.

What do you do? Exactly. You rely on fat and carbohydrates.

Of course, I can already see you with your skeptical attitudes. But they have such amazing fruits! Yes, they do. They actually do.

But what would you do, would you rely on spending money on fruits which will not make you full for longer period of time or on spending money on something that will take your hunger away for a bit longer?

I guess you would choose the second option.

How lucky are we to have this possibility to be picky about the food that we have on our tables and clean water running from our taps.
