LET'S GO MANGROVE PLANTING: A Joint Project of KanePackage Group of Companies and SAITAMA-CEBU HUMAN RESOURCE MONOZUKURI PROJECT
Despite the blazing heat of the sun, the participants of this 5th Batch for Mangrove Planting Project led and organized by KanePackage Group of Companies in partnership with SAITAMA-CEBU HR MONOZUKURI PROJECT: A Linkage between Cebu, Philippines and Saitama, Japan, remained energetic and passionate in a whole day of serving and planting mangroves for a cause held last Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Olango Island, Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines.
WHY DO WE PLANT MANGROVES?
Mangrove Planting is a Corporate Social Responsibility of Kanepackage Group of Companies. It is a Japanese Firm in Saitama with branches ranging from the Southeast Asian Countries to some parts in the West. This project aims to develop environmental rehabilitation and preservation.
WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANCE OF MANGROVES?
Mangrove forests serve as nature’s buffer between land and sea. They protect coastal communities from storm surges caused by typhoons and control erosion along the shoreline so that the waters would not easily engulf land. So when Super Typhoon Yolanda struck the Philippines, areas with mangrove forests suffered significantly less damage as the trees acted as shield from the strong winds and waves.
Summary from KanePackage Mangrove Research Team:
Without Mangroves planted alongside the coastal areas, extreme fatalities could be a possibility.

It was really a privilege already to me that I was part of this activity. The feeling that despite how hard you went through in order to get into the destination but still wasn't a hinder to stop, it is really a joy already to me despite the fact that it was really tiring but after all, the effort you did was rest assured that you put a smile on OUR MOTHER EARTH'S FACE.
OUR MOTHER EARTH CERTAINLY NEEDS US. WE ONCE WERE GIVEN A PARADISE-LIKE EARTH BEFORE BUT BECAUSE OF THE ADVENT AND RISE OF MAN'S WISDOM, OUR MOTHER EARTH HAS GRADUALLY DWINDLED ITS VALUE. IT IS THAT BECAUSE OUR DOINGS, OUR MOTHER EARTH WAS MADE DESTRUCTED. WE ONCE TASTED AND SEEN THE BEAUTY OF OUR HABITAT, I THINK IT'S TIME ALREADY THAT WE MUST RETURN THE FAVOR BACK.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING TIME ON READING THIS FELLOWS! Again, LET'S TAKE CARE OF OUR MOTHER EARTH!
WITH LOVE,
