Ivan's film review - Sorry to bother you

I know this isn't exactly a new movie and that it came out in July, but I just learned about it from my friend and watched it last night. And I hope I get you to watch it as well.

Set in an alternate version of Oakland, this film is eye-opening. Although the movie is tagged as fantasy and comedy, the modern day problems which are presented are very real. I can guarantee that watching it will make you think twice about your life, your job and your surroundings and is it worth it. "Is it worth it?", that will be the question you'll ask yourself numerous times while also having a laugh at the way they presented the problem.

The plot is quite simple, a man gets offered a promotion from his dead-end job in telemarketing where he needs to do tasks with questionable moral. Also in order to earn “the big money” he needs to abandon his friends and the protests against low paychecks, which will eventually leave him without anybody to rely on. Is it all worth it and what is the right thing to do are the questions that just repeat themselves in our main character’s head. And going deeper down the rabbit hole uncovers more and more dark secrets of the business world. How much can the wonder-man Cassius Green take before he loses his mind? Who will he side with at the very end? Go and have a look yourself.

The comedy part of the movie is all about the racial differences. Cassius's secret to success in telemarketing is using his "white voice" instead of his regular one which gives the dialogs in the film an interesting aspect. All in all, the entire movie is just a big controversial tale of our modern society and it can help you get a bigger picture of the world we live in.
