Lack of maintenance culture course to worry about in Nigeria.

In this video I will share with you a leaking roof of one petroleum station I ran into to wait for the heavy rain to go down. And to my shock there was no difference between standing in the rain and taking shade in the Petro station.

The rate of abounded properties in almost every part of Nigerian cities and towns is call to worry about. There are uncountable unfinished projects which where awarded by certain administration and because there is no continuity such projects are abounded.

Let me not talk about government and their way of life I am concerned about individuals who don't take maintenance very seriously. You live in a rented apartment and it's dropping water and the landlord would want you to fix it. And because he wouldn't come to check it and you don't want water to destroy your things you get a carpenter to work on it you pay .

Someone is having some symptoms of ill health he won't go to check and possibly take treatment until it becomes life threatening. Someone who doesn't take his own life seriously how then would such a person fix his leaking roofs.

It's not just this Petro station, sometimes you would board a taxi or a bush and you're on a transit, and suddenly the rain starts to your greatest imagination, right in the bus or taxi, you will be soaked by water as a result of leakages from the roof of the bus or taxi and when you complain the driver would quickly tell you that the leakage just started.

Maintenance ought to be culture and should be taught in schools because it's like a normal for a dozen of people that if something hadn't gone completely damaged it can't be fixed. Maintenance is cheaper than a complete renovation. It saves time and cost.

I see lots of beautiful and new buildings and when the rain is falling you won't believe your eyes how the whole building would become a pool. My experience a traveller had opened my eyes if I want to relocate to new apartment I try to hold on till the rain comes. When the rain is here, and you are looking for an apartment, you would be interested in discoveries if the environment is waterlogged and if the roofs are dropping water.

God made our system to regenerate so we can look fresh. Old skin dies off, we cut or long nails which is known as personal grooming. People buy expensive deodorant and some basic cosmetics to maintain their body but to their properties they feel it's a waste of resources.
