Rakuten promises to make cryptocurrencies an everyday form of payment in Japan
Cryptocurrencies should become a daily form of payment in Japan. This is the opinion of Tatsuya Yamada, president of Rakuten Wallet, the cryptocurrency division of "Japanese Amazon".
Speaking at the Invest Asia conference on September 12, Yamada presented the results of surveys indicating that 70 million people in Japan, or 80% of the country's population, know about cryptocurrencies, but there are currently only 15 registered exchanges to serve them.
"Rakuten's goal is to make cryptocurrencies available for daily payments in Japan," said Yamada.
Rakuten is the largest e-commerce site in Japan and one of the largest sales sites in the world. The company has a successful track record of distributing e-payment tools that are not based on traditional currencies - in 2002, it launched the Rakuten Super Points program, which allows users of its products to earn points and subsequently pay with them on the platform.
According to Yamada, Rakuten Fintech is one of the strongest units in the entire conglomerate business.
Rakuten Wallet's exchange service was developed on the basis of Everybody's Bitcoin trading platform, which the company became the owner of last year. In mid-August, Rakuten publicly launched a cryptocurrency trading application supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash.
Last February, Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani said that the Super Points program will be moved to blockchain, and that the points it uses will essentially be converted into Rakuten Coin's cryptocurrency, but these plans have not materialized to date.

Same thing. Please provide source in the future.
If not, please edit out that comment.
No hassle but can you shed any light on the fact that one of those articles was 100% plagiarized yet it is now showing up as no hits? It's quite perplexing.
I was suggesting the article could be spun. Sorry about that.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
It's all good mate :)
Side note. People should probably check out @me-tarzan and his alt accounts which he has been using to rape the rewards pool for quite a long time. He upvotes the comment on each of post's just before the pay out window closes using an alt account @spinbunny and others...This is not my focus on steem so I will not pursue it but I am very surprised others turn a blind eye.
Just need to bring it up to the other whales.
I imagine you would be in a better position to do so than I am. I have no interest in pursuing abuse to that extent. If you have no interest in following it up though I guess I can speak to someone else about it.
