Back Acres: Mincing Garlic and Splitting Wood for Kindling with the Old Hickory Chef Knife

in #cooking7 years ago (edited)

The Ontario Knife Company's Old Hickory Butcher / Chef Knife is made in USA with 1095 High Carbon Steel. That's a life-time, pass it down to your kids kind of Steel. With the right care it can be kept very sharp. A very useful compact Chef Knife great for the kitchen, the wood pile, the backpacker, and the survivalist.

Garlic is delicious, nutritious, and easy to grow. Here's the Old Hickory in Action Mincing Garlic. I'm a bit rusty, it's been a long time since my chef'n years :D

In this video I demonstrate using the Old Hickory Chef Knife to Baton Wood for Kindling:

Be Very Careful with Knives, they're sharp! This is a demonstration, not a knife safety video. If you're not sure, have someone show you how.

Up Next is Veggie Pasta Primavera.

Have a great day!
