Fantastica - Say It In Pictures Volume #30

in OCD5 years ago (edited)

Hello Everyone! Here is another volume of my Say It In Pictures Project. I am slowly approaching the end of my winter downtime so I will undoubtedly start doing more stuff outdoors and taking more pictures! I hope that you enjoy them!

I love walking by this sign every day!

sayitinpictures302.jpg

With several days of a hard freeze approaching I decided to drain the spring water holding tank!

sayitinpictures303.jpg

That little holding tank sure generates a good bit of water pressure!

sayitinpictures304.jpg

It did not amount to much snow but it did not get up above freezing for several days in a row!

sayitinpictures305.jpg

Then all the rain came and the creek swelled!

sayitinpictures305a.jpg

Everything to the right of that big log is usually not submerged in water!

sayitinpictures305b.jpg

This is the most whitewater I have ever seen on this creek!

sayitinpictures306.jpg

With all the rain I noticed this wet weather spring where water was coming out of the ground!

sayitinpictures307.jpg

A close up view of the wet weather spring when I initially found it!

sayitinpictures308.jpg

The small preliminary pool that I dug at the new springhead!

sayitinpictures309.jpg

The same pool the following day after a little more digging and adding a drainage channel!

sayitinpictures3010.jpg

The water in the pool after all the muck settled!

sayitinpictures3011.jpg

Several days later the spring quit flowing so I started slowly digging down deeper!

sayitinpictures3012.jpg

A few days later a small pool formed in the angled hole and is holding water!

sayitinpictures3013.jpg

A big pile of brush that I burned and had the dog sniff on for rodents while I hauled the branches to the fire!

sayitinpictures3014.jpg

Fire!

sayitinpictures3015.jpg

The fire burning low!

sayitinpictures3016.jpg

The beginning of burying the fire's remnants with clay and dirt to preserve the ash and let it all finish 'cooking' into low-grade biochar!

sayitinpictures3017.jpg

The covered ash and coals made quite the steamy pile!

sayitinpictures3018.jpg

Blue skies have been a rare sight this winter!

Thanks For Viewing!
