Do you depend too much on technology for your business? #2
This is a continuation of my previous post Do you depend too much on technology for your business?. Haven't been able to continue it due to projects I've been working on. Total dependence of a business on technology can be very risky. Last time, we talked about WannaCry which is a ransomeware that caught quite a number of entrepreneurs off guard. Today, let's take a look at some other things to consider to see if we depend too much on technology for our businesses. It's wise for us to ponder over this with an open mind.
Technology is often used to connect customers with businesses faster and safer. But, if technology is replacing the connection between a business and a customer, that is not healthy. A customer needs to feel a relationship between himself and what he's spending his money on. This is a factor that may make a customer return for one's services.
Also when a business is developing. Maybe, making the business more digital, continuous updates needs to be sent to the customers so they wouldn't get lost along the line. The human touch of a business is important and should not be neglected. No one wants to continually dealing with bots. If as a business owner, one does not give attention to this, you might end up losing long-time customers who aren't very conversant with new technologies.
Another thing to consider is where you store your files. It's good to store business information and files on files online, but is that the only copy you have? Just how storing files in a room can be risky if the building is in fire, so the Internet can be risky when your files are hacked and stolen. You do not need to depend on one means. It's best to still use the method you used for storing your files even before the Internet. There are hackers out there just looking for information to steal, so they can sell to the highest bidders. You don't want to fall prey to those guys. If a hack can ruin your business, then you have to think of a better at to store your business data.
It's weird, but I've seen a couple of entrepreneurs that don't really know much about their businesses. Do you fall in that same category? If you do, that's bad. These ones just rely on technology to do everything for them. If there is to be a tech failure, the business would end up losing sales. You have to take time to study yor business, try to know as much as you need to know. Technology should assist you to be a better entrepreneur, but technology shouldn't be your boss.
Thanks for reading, you all inspire me to keep on writing. I really miss posting.. :)
It is always nice to read a post written by you.
It is very true that technology aid our work and brings higher efficiency to it. But like almost everything, it has its disadvantages. So it would not be wise to be totally depend upon technology for our work. You can balance between using technology and conventional ways to do business. Even if you rely more on technology, it should not be totally.
Thanks for coming around. Balance is important.
This is so true.

She was even locked out of her own computer.
She has recovered now though.

Really amazing and inspiring post, from someone i truly admire on steemit, completely leaving all operations in a business on the hands of bots can be truly harmful, due to the fact that bots can not complete serve a human or completely be able to tackle some problems,it will always be limited to what it has been programmed to do.

There are programmers out there simply searching for data to take, so they can pitch to the most noteworthy bidders. You would prefer not to fall prey to those folks. On the off chance that a hack can destroy your business, at that point you need to think about a superior at to store your business information.
