A 3 day trip to the meadows of Jesus with my friends after a very long time.

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you summary of my three day visit to the very beautiful tourist destination Yousmarg also called the “Meadows of Jesus”.I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more experience of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

Earlier this year, one of my friends got selected as a junior engineer in the public health engineering department of the government of Jammu and Kashmir. It was quite ecstatic moment for not only him, but all of our friend circle because he worked hard for it and he truly deserved it. It was only after his selection that he promised all of his friends circle a treat in which he promised to bear all the expenses. After he joined the above mentioned department a few months before he got his first salary only after a thorough verification of antecedents and the documents he produced before the department. After getting a positive report from all the concerned department, he was credited with his first salary and it was the time for all of us to get together and enjoy the happy moment together.

We had not yet decided the place, but it was only after a few days before when we all met together in one of our close friends shop where we usually meet, it was all decided by a consensus that we will go to Yousmarg a famous tourist destination, which is located at a distance of about 35 km from our village. The dates were decided according to the convenience of all the members as we all are involved in either government or private jobs barring a few who still are working hard to get a place in any government department. We decided to leave on Friday afternoon for two days till Sunday evening.My friend had arranged a Kashmiri cuisine, Wazwan And I was given the responsibility to carry all the stuff along with some of my friends in my car.

We already had arranged our accommodation as one of our close friends works in the tourism department, and he had already booked three rooms for our stay. We only had to reach the place without getting into any sort of rigmarole of choosing and booking rooms of our convenience. We left at around 6 PM and it took us around two hours to reach there as we had to buy some supplementary food items on our way. Upon reaching the place, the weather was a little overcast and we hardly could see any person moving around. It was quite a mesmerising scene where one could enjoy pure nature without any distraction.

The place Yousmarg is famous for its undulating Meadows extending over a length of about 2 kms and breadth about 1 km. It has rightly been called as the Meadow of Jesus. The softness of the ground underneath the feet imparted the feeling of walking across a thick carpet and the cool breeze that blows in the evening helps one to shed off all the negativity and the depressions of life.

We couldn’t get out on Saturday because it was raining cats and dogs there, and we hardly could get any opportunity to explore the place but we still enjoyed our time together. We played cards all through the day after getting up late at around 11 AM. Mention is to be made here that Yousmarg is a black zone as far as the communication network is concerned and the lack of network help one to keep mobile phones aside and enjoy the nature and the company of people around to its fullest. It’s one of the main reasons we choose to go to this place as it helps to stay away from the commotion of life and spend some time in true serenity.
It was only when the rain stopped,We got out to see our close friend who works in the tourism department in the same area. We went to see him at his hotel and it was a memorable time for me because while on way towards that place, I tipped and fell into a stream full of mud. I had to clean all my clothes there only before proceeding towards the hotel. All my friends made fun of me and has become one of the most memorable events in our three day trip.

We didn’t sleep for the whole night and enjoyed our company together by sharing funny things and played cards throughout the night. We enjoyed our time and couldn’t discern how the time ran and the night passed. We slept when the sun had actually risen above the horizon.

It was on Sunday when we actually went out to explore the place. The weather was good and we anticipated a very little or no rainfall during the day, and we left to explore every corner of the place only after making necessary arrangements for our lunch together.. We went to see different astonishing features of the place like the river that flows to its west and water dam that has been constructed on the eastern side of the place to store the runoff water from a huge catchment area in and around Yousmarg.

After spending some time at Doodh Ganga, “the white water river” in which the water level has increased from quite a few days because of the continuous rainfall over a time of one week or so. It made the river quite beautiful.It had lost its beauty due to diversion of water towards a hydroelectric power plant.The decrease in the water level of DoodhGanga had changed its ecosystem and has affected the diversity of animals living in and around the water stream.

As we all are involved in jobs, either private or government had to reach back home to set off for our respective offices the next day. In this regard, we all packed our stuff and put it in the car. Even after setting off for our places, I along with my another friend decided to park the car again and spend some more time at this beautiful place as we have got linked with the place emotionally and even after spending a lot of time there, it hardly is up to my hearts content.

I bid adieu to this famous tourist place with a heavy heart and set off to get back to the same day-to-day life that I have been experiencing over the past few years after I got into the current job.
