It was Day 21 of Ramadan and I was up very early in the morning at around 4:30 AM. Straight away after performing ablution, I purified myself before having the pre-dawn meal called Sehar. I offered some prayers and only after finishing the meal, I waited for the prayers to start in the mosque. I was quick to get to the mosque in order to offer my prayer in congregation with other people of the community. Only after finishing the prayers did I return back home, and now it was time to go to bed for some more rest.

It was around 9 AM when I got up again, got ready quickly, and headed towards my office. Upon reaching my office, I straightaway got into my work and continued it till the end of the day. Meanwhile, I offered my afternoon prayers. While I was returning home, I had to fetch some bread that we had ordered a couple of days before from a local bread maker who is quite famous for making those typical Kashmiri breads which are consumed on a large scale during the Ramadan days throughout the valley.

Upon reaching home, as I had nothing much to do, I thought of spraying some growth regulators on the apricot trees which had full blossoms. Before applying those growth regulators, I checked on the internet and found that it was not beneficial to spray them at this stage of time. So I decided not to spray those growth regulators on the trees, as it could lead to some harm to the blossoms and might actually result in a decrease in crop yield.

It was then time to get into the garden and enjoy some time there, as beautiful blossoms are everywhere these days and it is quite pleasing to be outside. The aroma in the air is quite lovely, and one would hardly wish to miss these days or such an opportunity of being there in the garden, breathing in fresh air with such a pleasant fragrance and pink beauty everywhere.

Meanwhile, it was time for breaking the fast, which we do at the time of dusk. For that, I needed to make arrangements beforehand. I had to cut fruits, make some banana shake, place them on plates, and then serve them to all the family members who were already waiting in the dining room. These days, as my sister-in-law is not here and has gone to her maternal home a few days ago, all these things need to be done by me, just as I used to do earlier when my brother was not married. Anyway, it feels quite good to serve others during these beautiful and auspicious days of Ramadan, and it gives one a sense of satisfaction. This month is highly rewarding, and every good deed done during these days surely brings great returns, and I truly believe in that.

Later, I offered the evening prayer and then returned home to have my dinner. After that, we again went for Taraweeh. These prayers are quite special and take a long time. Later in the night, when I returned back home, I had a cup of tea before going to sleep and called it a day.
