Walk of faith.

in #philippines7 years ago (edited)

Walk of faith or "Alay Lakad" as it is called by Filipinos has always been part of the holy week tradition.  Millions of filipino catholics walk from every part of Luzon up to the mountains of Antipolo to visit the "Nuestra Senyora dela Paz y Buenviaje" or the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.

Tired, exhausted and hungry devotees offers their suffering to Christ who offered His life to us.

For as they enter the Cathedral of Antipolo they can feel calmness and fulfillment on their journey.

Devotees that come to Antipolo by foot believe that God hears their every petition, some offers their thanksgiving and some made the walk of faith their yearly vow to God in exchange to their peaceful and bountyful life.
