Anthony Joshua rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr to take place in Saudi Arabia (Neutral ground)
It seems the long awaited rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz is finally happening this December in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
We all remember the June 1st boxing fight that had Anthony Joshua lose to Andy Ruiz, just a few days after that match Joshua asked for a rematch and guess what, it is happening!!
There has been confusion on the venue with both parties having their own desired locations.
Anthony Joshua wanted the rematch to be held in Britain to which Andy Ruiz refused!!
Joshua has been battling for the rematch to be held in the UK, however last week Ruiz claimed he would refuse to fight in the UK following Dillian Whyte's failed drugs test
According to dailymail
An official announcement is expected to be made later on Friday confirming the bout for the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.
Joshua lost the belts in a shock defeat to Ruiz Jr on June 1 at Madison Square Garden.
What was fascinating in that first fight was that Andy Ruiz had never been knocked down in his professional career and it was the first time.
I guess he got pissed after Joshua took him to the canvas in the 3rd round and he pounced on him like crazy hahaha.
Andy Ruiz felled Joshua two times just after Joshua had knocked him down!!!
There were many memes that came out after that fight mostly because Ruiz does not have that athletic build (6-pack kind of body) and yet Joshua had.
You can check that image above again to confirm what i am saying about the athletic build!!!
Or you can check out this one below, compare and contrast!!
Truth be told I had never had of Andy Ruiz before the fight until a few days to the fight and after the win!!
I obviously knew of Joshua because he is always on the news!!
This rematch was more likely to take place in New York or Cardiff's Principality Stadium!
It now seems more likely that the rematch will take place in Saudi Arabia, no official announcement has been made yet though.
Saudi Arabian sports authorities are said to be putting up almost $100million (£83million) for the match to be held there. In the UK, the fight will be broadcast on Sky Box Office.
So shall we see Joshua lose out again or he will win it this time around??
For me I see Andy Ruiz taking it again, the other match I would love to see is Wilder Vs one of the two of these guys hehehe.
I have read and seen Wilder brag a lot, would love to see him also disciplined by Andy Ruiz hahahaha.
For all those who missed that epic first fight, check out the highlights below.
