One Lane Is All I Need!

So it has been two consequitive days in which I have had early morning swimming sessions after waking up, the decision to start was something almost spontaneous. I seen a new leisure center open up 5 minutes driving distance from where I live and went to check it out.

I haven't had a good swim in over ten years so I decided doing some reading on it's bodily benefits only to find some encouragement in myself to try it out. Well the first three days I kept saying I am going to join, procastinating as usual, the following day I woke up with a determination I never knew I had, headed to the shopping center got myself a swim suit and a gym bag, bought a towel and accessories and went straight to the leisure center.

It's only been two consequitive days and OMD wow, the psychological affect it has had on my mind alone I can't even begin to explain. I have felt rejuvenated ever since, and I just can't describe how mentally strong I feel. It's as though I am a new person entirely, can this really be the case after only two days? Honestly I don't know if that's scientifically possible, however I guarantee you, this change is from swimming alone.

Don't get me wrong the benefits come with it's drawbacks nothing too serious, apart from some aches and pains in your muscles, but it's not as bad as your first day back in the gym, that's something which we can't ignore.

Let's go over some benefits of swimming and why we should get started.

1) Swimming raises self-esteem

Speedo is a company which has collected research on thousands of swimmers and has concluded that up to 68% believe they feel good about themselves just for being in the water and 70% feel that after swimming they are mentally rejuvenated just as I personally had described to you earlier.

2) Feel good all the time

Swimming has bought a weird type of feeling into my mind, I feel relaxed and comfortable, surveys have shown that more likely then not those who swim feel as though they can overcome personal emotions like stress, anger, tension and annoyance. You just feel good all the time I know I do.

3) Good for muscles

You may not know this but just enjoying yourself in the water, walking around and having the time of your life comes with huge benefits of building on your muscles. The resistance of water can be 40 times more than that of air, which requires more effort to move. Its a cheaper alternative to spending huge bucks on weights or other training equipment.

i swim every morning at my local gym. it is much easier on my joints than running. I don't lift, but i know i should. i love swimming though :)

It's absolutely amazing started only two days ago, my body feels great, my mind is so open and my sleep is amazing.

I think it's just easier to do then running.

I loved swimming too much, i think i spent too much time in the water couple years back. the water can make me prone to sinus infections :/ which suck. sensiitive skin. hope youre well man!

That's crazy 20 minutes is more than enough for me daily... Don't want to overdo it.
