in #travel7 years ago

Hello my dear traveler steemians friends!
We would to continue our adventure from the other day in the magic village of Beget.

1e.jpg

Before we arrived there, we found what we thought was an abandoned mill next to the river.

2e.jpg

Right after , we went through the Beget stream crossing the bridge.

3e.jpg

When we arrive, we realize that the access to the town by car is prohibited, it´s only allowed walking. So we leave the car in a nearby parking and we´re ready to walk. Let´s say that the village consists of several narrow streets with stone floor.
The first thing we find is the back of the church.

The Romanesque church of San Cristobal of Beget is a culturally interesting property built for the most part at the end of the 12th century and at the beginning of the 13th century.
Historians believe that the ground floor and first floor date back to the 10th century. Its inner part in sight is simply spectacular. Unfortunately this time we found it closed, it´s only open to the public on weekends and times that vary according to the season.
But we leave you this photos to have an idea and the website from where we took it.

We pass the entrance to the church and few meters further , we have to cross a small stone bridge, which two of the three sectors that make up the village and are separated by two rivers.

The oldest houses are generally seated on rock with lime, mortar, mud and stone walls. Until the 18th century , great was taken to respect the modifications that were made so as not to alter the traditional typology. In the middle of the 19th century, it´s about the beginning of the introduction of wood for the eaves of the balconies.

8e.jpg

If we continue advancing , we will arrive at the main square , where we will find two small alleys . One will take us to the lower part of the village, where the second bridge is located.

9e.jpg

On the way , we see the renovated houses, that due to be a second residences , have disfigured the traditional local typology, ringing and rejoining the facades with mortar and new versions of the wooden balconies.

10e.jpg

We crossed the second bridge and arrived at the third zone.

11e.jpg

When we cross the bridge we see a strange stone , in which we decided to make some photos.

12e.jpg

And then we realize that is a source. LOL

13e.jpg

We leave behind the strange source stone while we admire the beauty of the village.

14e.jpg

We are struck by the handle with a shape of a lizard , opening the fence of the house.

15e.jpg

And for don´t change the tradition of Girona , I gave it a kiss to be able to return to this place.

16e.jpg

Past these streets trough a staircase with long steps , we try to reach the highest part of the village.

17e.jpg

Before arriving , we came across a ruined house that was apparently a convent.

18e.jpg

And from above , there are incredible views of the whole town.

19e.jpg

Like no, I also want my photo from here with this magnificient views.

20e.jpg

We descend again to go see the part that we lack.

21e.jpg

And crossing again over the bridge, we realize that in the garden of one of the houses, there´s a sculpture of a man playing the violin. What pays homage to an illustrious neighbour of the population.

22e.jpg

After asking permission to enter to this garden , we entered and decided to dress him with the jacket I used to characterize all of our adventures.

23e.jpg

24e.jpg

We returned and went up the street that we were missing and we found the Hostal el Forn, and to our surprise it was open so we decided to drink something and rest.

25e.jpg

26e.jpg

We got a surprise to see his terrace with such breathtaking views.

27e.jpg

While we decide to freshen up , our photographer goes inside the restaurant.

28e.jpg

Finding here a small cozy dining room.

29e.jpg

And with decent views to appear on a postcard.

30e.jpg

Our photographer also draws a mural painting where many of the neighbours who have left their mark in this small village over time.

31e.jpg

After having rested and renewed strength , it´s time to take the road to the car.

32e.jpg

We discovered that on a path near where we had left the car, there are some small waterfall. Our photographer falls in love with it and it´s hard for us to drag him back to the car.

33e.jpg

And although we still have to go home, our journey with you dear steemians friends, it´s over for now. See you next time
