10 KICKASS MOTIVATION TIPS
Getting - and staying motivated on a daily basis can often be challenging - especially when your time is spent juggling a million and one activities... work, kids, family, dinner, lunches, meetings, sports practices, bath time, homework...
It can often leave one feeling somewhat depleted (to say the least)...
Motivation pushes you through "the tough times" to a point of success - so I thought I would share some motivational "tips" which I use on a regular basis, to stay "on target".

TAKE TIME TO RE-FOCUS ON YOUR GOALS!!
If your goals are no longer in focus, then neither are you. You cannot attain what you cannot see clearly. Take a moment to remind yourself of where you want to be and why you started the journey in the first place. It is good to regain a bit of perspective.

WALK!!
Fresh air is an amazing tool! Walking is an amazing way of "re-booting" - in fact, short of walking, even if you are able to go to a nice green area where you can take your shoes off and feel the grass between your toes... then do that too! Or better yet... walk barefoot!

COMMUNICATE!!
When things around us become a little overwhelming, it is easy to turn inward... and more often than not, this makes the situation worse rather than better. No matter how difficult - it really does help to "off load" every now and then - and that is what the people close to us are there for. They are an integral part of our support structure... and vice versa. Don't be afraid to make use of that. You will literally FEEL the weight lifting off your shoulders, just by speaking about "whatever it is". Not only that - but consider it a "brainstorming session" - others often see things / ideas / alternatives that you might have overlooked.

CHANGE THINGS UP!!
Change is as good as a holiday they say... if you are feeling depleted at work - do something simple, like re-organise your desk. Buy yourself a new pot plant for your office, get a goldfish - whatever and wherever... just clean up the space, re-arrange it, sort it out and give the space you frequent a new lease on life. Trust me on this one.

LISTEN TO YOUR GUT!!
Your intuition will frequently surprise you, if you give it half the chance to do so... When you are in a head space of not knowing what to do... then the timing on the matter is probably not right, which is why the puzzle pieces are not landing where you want / need them to. Trust that... the time to "action something" will come and when it does, you will not hesitate, you will KNOW it is the right time... so be patient and trust in the process.

NO MORE NEGATIVE SELF-TALK!!
This is probably the biggest no no, yet the one thing people do most! Well... STOP IT! You need to be your own cheerleader! When you catch yourself allowing negative self-talk, don't try and ignore it, as this often makes it get even louder. Simply acknowledge it... "speak to it nicely" i(if you will) and then dismiss it.

REWARD YOURSELF!!
Long terms goals have many minor milestones along the way... don't forget to acknowledge your intermittent achievements. Even if it is simply by spoiling yourself to a good champagne in the bath whilst you take a moment to think about what you have achieved thus far - or perhaps you might take your loved ones out for dinner to share the celebration with them. Celebrating small victories is a motivation in itself.
GET UP, DRESS UP and SHOW UP!!
There is a lot to be said for getting up in the morning and putting on an outfit which makes you feel like the bees knees! So even if you don't feel like it - just do it! Do it most days if you can and then take one day in the week to kick it "lounge lizard style" - this too will feel like a reward in itself... It is an amazing confidence booster when you look and feel good - and when you feel confident... the feeling of motivation comes naturally.
STOP COMPARING YOURSELF!!
What other peoples goals and achievements are, has absolutely NOTHING to do with you and your goals! Keep your mind focused on where you are headed... if you want to compare yourself to anybody, then compare your yesterday you, to your today you. Other people are not a part of your path.
STEP OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!
It is very easy to procrastinate whilst stuck in a comfort zone. Do not fall into that trap... it will literally suck the life out of you and your goals. If you aren't in the right frame of mind to be productive directly towards your goal at a particular moment in time, the go and do something else that will shake that feeling. Do something that you enjoy. Remember your passions - whatever they are. Go for a run, play with your kids, read a book, go window shopping... whatever makes your soul happy.

Above all... just remember and TRUST, that everything will unfold PRECISELY the way it should!
