Is hard-fork 19 too good to be true?steemCreated with Sketch.

I'm currently concerned with the insane amount of money I'm seeing posts make. It's not the fact that good posts are being paid fairly it's that shit posts are making money now. I've already seen over ten absolute shit posts that are reaching $0.50 or higher. I'm concerned that with this new found power that a community of minnows who don't care about properly curating can make themselves some real money.

Does this mean whales/dolphins are going to be on a much higher level of flagging useless posts? Surely some will still make it through the cracks. Will this payout system have good longevity or could it be the destruction of steemit as we know it?

I would be lying if I said that this hard-fork didn't have me somewhere between thrilled & scared. With that being said I'm truly amazed with the platform I've seen steemit turn into over the past year of being here. I am over here rooting for steemit and hope it can succeed and become one of the biggest social media platforms the world has ever seen!

nice voting power you have now crypto ^_^

I'm with you every time I upvote it goes down by one cent interesting

People need to check their sliders and bots. 100% voting power will only give 10 votes per day without depleting voting power. Once everyone figures that out, it will "calm down". :)

very true!

how do you check the slider? correct me if I'm wrong but can't you only adjust that at a certain amount of steem power?

The slider comes somewhere around 500 sp. I can't remember exactly when.

Okay that's what I thought. Us minnows have no choice though. Even my wimpy 110 steem power is enough to put $0.10 on a post!

Wow, nice!

Payouts are low people get confused.. payouts are high people get confused...

What exactly happened in the last 24 hours? Can someone please explain? Everyone's post seems to have skyrocketed...but why?

They increased the voting power by x4 but to me it seems more than that. Your voting power will deplete much quicker now. Don't vote more than 10 times a day.

So that's a good thing isn't it? It's also a way for people to vote on actual worthy posts and not just anything at random.

show me the money said Tom Cruise

The payouts are estimated ones and we should see a comeback after whales voting

With great power comes great responsibility :P

As a minnow I see this as a real good incentive for us little guys to continue on curating our content, yet I believe spam will inevitably increase. So in my opinion yes, you whales and dolphins should be the ones "regulating" the community with your vote power. Just don't abuse :D

The sustainability of it all is what worries me the most. Can this really be kept up at this pace? I don't know, but good questions!

Why not - its just redistribution of the block-chain reward to different people.. they are still printing the same amount of money.. its just being spread more evenly?

I'm not sure to be perfectly honest with you. I don't know all the ins and outs and technical aspects of how this HF changed the voting power, but maybe you're right. As long as it's good for the Steemit eco-system I'm all in :)

They got rid of mining a while ago.. content.. comments.. voting..witnesses.. these are all the places where rewards are directed.. the number is the same the "pool distribution" seems to be "fairer".
