Happy New Year everyone. I have to be blatantly honest... I have had this account since July of 2017 and am just now getting around to posting something. I would like to say that the lack of posting was due to being busy, but in all honesty, it was due to a lack of desire to actually take the time to do anything on here. BUT.. it's a new year and I decided last night about 2am that maybe I should post something. SO... Here goes-

I am 33 years old, about to be 34 in about a month. I am a professional college student, some would say. I have a duel masters degree and will graduate this May with a Doctorate. I actually defend my dissertation this month! I am excited and terrified all at the same time. But, I am ready to put it behind me. I am married (2nd marriage) to the love of my life and best friend. He is 9 years older than me and I have learned that works well for me (well, for us). I have 2 amazing kiddos from a previous marriage. They are 11 (soon to be 12 on the 12th) and 9. They never cease to amaze me.

I am the Director of Operations (or the Boss) at a non-profit organization here in town. I've been there for almost 2 months and I think I am getting the hang of it. I really feel like I can make a difference for them. In the short time I have worked for this organization, I have made the front page of the local newspaper twice. I joke that I can retire now because 2 of my 3 life goals are complete. {Graduate with my Doctorate is the first one, followed by be the boss of an organization and make the front page of the paper for a good reason}. I think I need to make new goals!!

Anyway- I am a fairly boring person, or so I think. I prefer to stay home and spend time with family. We play video games (take your pick on system- xbox, Wii, Wii U, Switch, computer, virtual reality), board games and spend a lot of time watching movies. I truly love watching Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and the list goes on. I am a binge watcher. I hate watching shows one episode at a time. I prefer to be able to sit down and watch multiple episodes back to back. I love to read. I own more books than I can count and am always looking for something new to read. I love to write. My goal for 2018 is to finally publish something- we shall see where that goes! I love food- especially trying new Keto friendly recipes. Stay tuned for posts on how that goes this year! I love to be the positive person in the room- I strive to always find the good in every situation no matter how hard it is to find. It will never be about what money can buy but about the lives I am able to impact along the way. I know when I reach the end of my time here on earth, I want to be able to look back and know I made a difference. I sparked the flame that inspired others. I left a legacy. This year I plan to give back more, spend more time volunteering and helping others, and taking time to inspire and encourage.

That pretty much is me in a nut shell... I look forward to being able to post more about my journey through this crazy thing we call life soon.
