The Significance Of The HOLY SPIRIT!
You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?
3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?"
Galatians 3:1
- What was it that got the Paul so worked up in his letters?
It was on the grounds that the Galatians had the wrong thought regarding the significance of the Holy Spirit. They comprehended the part that the Holy Spirit played in their change, yet they were missing out on His part as Helper in the continuous life of a Christian . Their new life in Christ had started by reacting to the Holy Spirit through faith and confidence, yet they were currently attempting to keep up it by human efforts, as opposed to depending on Him.
Numerous Christians today get captured in an indistinguishable trap same as the Galatians: we overlook why the Holy Spirit is so important. If we need to abstain from being "stupid Galatians," we have to respond to the Holy Spirit and the manner in which He moves in our lives.
Here are five key parts that the Holy Spirit plays.
I. HE GUIDES YOU INTO JESUS' TRUTH
Jesus was sure about the significance of the Holy Spirit:
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you."
John 16:13-14
- Do you like to know what Jesus is stating to you as you go through this life?
- Do you like to have the capacity to hear God's voice as you read through the Bible?
It is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, who imparts the greater part of that to you.
II. HE DIRECTS YOUR STEPS
The Holy Spirit not just communicate the words of Jesus to you, but He really is the person who leads and coordinates your steps into the plenteous life that Jesus promises.
Paul says, "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.… . And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you." Romans 8:9, 11
The Holy Spirit is the conductor of life from God into your heart. He is the person who controls your considerations, demeanors, words, and activities as you follow His lead. He will coordinate your steps through all the entangled ways of life and keep you from sin. That is bounteous life!
III. HE GIVES YOU SPIRITUAL GIFTS
The Holy Spirit is additionally the person who gives spiritual gifts to all believers of Jesus with the goal that we as a whole can play our part in the Body of Christ. Paul gave us a testing of those gifts in his first letter to the Corinthian church:
"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines."
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
It is through these gifts of the Spirit that we work best as the Church, and it is through these gifts that we can declare the intensity of Jesus to individuals who frantically need to know our Savior.
IV. HE EMPOWERS YOU TO PROCLAIM
In Acts, Luke reviews again and again the essential part the Holy Spirit played in the early Church's declaration of the Gospel. Whenever Peter and John stood blamed before ground-breaking pioneers, Luke announced that Peter was loaded up with the Holy Spirit and strongly broadcasted that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the One they had crucified, was the best way to salvation
Acts 4:5-12
The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem.
6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family.
7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!
9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed,
10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
11 Jesus is
“‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
This is the same Peter who had denied Jesus two months earlier. Now, standing on the ground were Jesus was condemned, Peter charged these religious elite that they had crucified the Messiah. That new boldness is only possible and conceivable through the enabling of the Holy Spirit.
V. HE GUARANTEES YOUR HOPE OF HEAVEN
The Holy Spirit is additionally important on the grounds that He is the certification of your legacy in paradise.
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory."
Ephesians 1:13-14
Satan wants to wreck your expectation and endeavors to inspire you to question Jesus's love. However, the Spirit's driving, instructing, gifting, and declaring is confirmation that you have a place with God until the end of time.
So don't give anybody "a chance to bewitch" you. The Holy Spirit is of crucial significance in your life. It is through Him that the character of Christ is uncovered in you: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.… . Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit."
Galatians 5:22-23, 25
The Importance of the holy spirit in our lives cannot be over emphasized,he lives within us, guides our steps and prepares us for the day we meet our messiah.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
