(One thought behind this: people who live in these buildings often have no visibility and of course no lobby. Often there are social hot spots. Many people live in such a building and yet are often lonely and anonymous ...)

For once I felt it must be related to isolation and psychological disturbance. But then again, I was simply wondering if it has some other meanings.

Indeed, people rarely tend to understand even their neighbors. Besides, the pandemic has taken a toll of our emotional well-being.
