Oil companies are rapidly greening and will soon cease to be oil

Royal Dutch Shell and Total are preparing for radical changes in their strategy and even the core of their business. Against the backdrop of the growing popularity of alternative energy, leading oil companies plan to turn into a surprise! - at the power supplier.

At first glance, the desire to work with end users may seem odd. Centrica, one of Britain's leading energy companies, is estimated at just £ 7.6 billion ($ 10.8 billion) - a decline in buckets compared to Shell's turnover. The capital return of oil companies is also significantly higher - on average 15% against 7-9%.

Sooner or later, a relatively small business will grow to become very large. Neither Shell nor Total regard the present, but for the future - and in the future, oil and gas have a much simpler role than today.
