Update On The Just Concluded Elections In Nigeria.

If I were asked if this elections is totally free and fair, I'd say No. Yeah the news about who won hasn't been fully compiled yet but I'm not satisfied because in so many polling units, the masses didn't cast their votes. In borny, Rivers state, ballot boxes were snatched, in Ogobiri town of Bayelsa state, ballot box was snatched and not up to 20 persons could say they voted. Votes were burnt to ashes, houses were also burned down in some parts of Bayelsa state where I currently am right now. Also in warri, card readers were not working and kept the masses patiently waiting in the sun.

In akuku-Tori LGA of Rivers state, information reaching me was that no one voted. It was even written on facebook that APC members were disrupting the whole place because PDP was taking the lead. Even the secretary of the Akuku-Toru LGA council was pick up from his house under very severe torture. According to David-Jack Aribima, he said a group of camouflaged military men stormed Akuku- Toru LGA shooting directly into the town at anyone suspected to be PDP member. People were running up and down trying to escape the bullets, he did the same but was finally caught by the gang who took his away. "He's one of them, one of the guys said". He was trying to beg but they started flogging him with a koboko until one man said, " No this one is not among them, I know him well so Please let him go" and that was when they stopped flogging him. A 19 years old, 300L student who goes by the name David Usman lost his life in Kofi state while trying to cast his vote by a military personnel who said it wasn't intentional. I though they said no military personnel should be seen in the polling units. If he had known he will die after his last post on Facebook, I'm sure he would have stayed Indoors all throughout the election day. Now the future he plans to secure via his vote will he never see. If only the while process happened like the time of Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the calmness and peace throughout the election shows the kind of man Goodluck Jonathan is. I still believe in my country, this election is not free and fair. I pray the best leader wins after all.
