Making Jewelry at Garden of Eden in Luang Prabang
Across the Namkhan River from downtown, there is this nice little jewelry shop where you can not only buy locally made bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings, but you can learn how to make them yourself. There used to be a bamboo bridge here, but you can still use the boat service or even swim. It's not that deep or strong of a river so I've swam across many times to avoid paying anything. Even my dog can swim across this easily. Most people prefer to stay dry and pay the boatman though.
Garden of Eden Luang Prabang is right next to Dyen Sabai restaurant in Ban Panluang so you can enjoy a nice meal before or after getting your jewelry. Dyen Sabai is one of my favorite restaraunts in Luang Prabang. They have a really chill natural enviroment. They are also cool with my dog. Love me, love my dog. Don't let my dog join, never see me again, is my attitude.
This is the area where they have the jewelry classes. It's usually petty cool here by the river, but it was super hot today so we appreciated the air conditioner. Luang Prabang has the best weather I've seen in Southeast Asia. It's cool most of the year, but it's really hot from April to August when the rainy season arrives.
Our teacher was nice, but I found it amusing that he was wearing a Bulls number 23 jersey and had never heard of Jordan. He's a young guy and the greatest basketball player of all time retired a long time ago so it's OK. If you've ever lived in Asia then you'll know that people will wear shirts that say crazy and odd things, but nobody knows or cares what the weird English letters mean anyways.
Thanks for checking out Garden of Eden Luang Prabang with us today. My wife and I had a lot of fun making our necklaces.
