Thank you for helping rescue these kittens!
Today, I was able to donate $35 to Zoe’s Animal Rescue because of you kind-hearted Steemers!
Last week, I posted about the loss of my cat Holt, and mentioned that any funds the post raised would go directly to Zoe's Animal Rescue (the rescue that I’ve been volunteering with for a few years in Edmonton, Alberta). The post earned $34.61 (author and curators) so rounded up to $35 and donated the money online today.
This week was a particularly busy one at the rescue. We call this ‘kitten season’ because we often get an influx of kittens in late spring or early summer (speaking to the urgent need to spay and neuter to prevent homeless animals). It’s difficult because we don’t always have a place for them to go (or funds to take care of them); if you have a rescue in your area, I highly recommend volunteering to foster--you really would be making such a positive impact!
A RESCUE STORY FROM THIS WEEK
Zoe’s was called about a Rubbermaid bin in an alley where some kittens had been abandoned. There were holes poked in the bin. It’s been hot making it extra awful for them to be stuck inside. There were four 3-week old kittens without a mama and two 8-week old kittens inside. The wee 3-week kittens are being bottle fed by one of our amazing, tireless volunteers. And now I was able to send a little extra money to help these kittens.
Thank you so much for your upvotes last Saturday!
These babies are amazingly cute. I am so glad that the money went to a good cause. It is great to see these little guys are getting your support. I am so sorry for the loss of your fur-baby but I think he would happy to know you did this in his honor. Way to go!
Steemians are such good people. <3
This post makes me so happy!
It makes me happy too!
I remember that post!! I suggested Zoe join Steem it. Anything happening there?
Congrats on saving the kitty's!!
I've been talking to them and trying to figure it out. Would one of the co-directors join as themselves? Or can an organization join? We do already blog for Zoe's website, but it's written by a bunch of different volunteers... just not sure how to go about it!
Yes. You could do one for all, or all for themselves.
Have one account, or each have their own.
That would be up to you. Either way good for the Rescue operation!
Oh how kind of you! That is too sweet. Thank you so much on behalf of the kitties!!
Aw, well, I am a huge cat lover! I'm always trying to find ways to help where I can. It's the only way to not have a broken heart over how many animals need homes! I'm lucky I found an amazing rescue to volunteer for!
That is wonderful.
