Aborto
Del latín aboriri que significa fracasar en términos sencillos es el fracaso del embarazo, más ampliamente significa la interrupción prematura y definitiva del desarrollo del:
• Cigoto
• Embrión
• Feto
O su expulsión fuera del útero antes de que sean viables.
Tipos Aborto
Amenaza de aborto
Hemorragia con posibilidad de aborto, se observa en el 25% de los embarazos, a pesar de todos los esfuerzos la mitad termina en aborto.
Aborto espontáneo
Tienen lugar de manera natural, se produce con mayor frecuencia en la tercera semana tras la fertilización, un 15 % de embarazos detectados terminan en este tipo de aborto.
Aborto habitual
Expulsión espontánea de un embrión o feto muerto o no viable por 3 o más veces consecutivas.
Aborto inducido
Inducción del parto por medios médicos antes de la semana 20 (quinto mes) antes de que el feto sea viable.
Aborto completo
Expulsión por el útero de todos los productos de la concepción.
Aborto retenido
El embrión o feto quedan retenidos tras su muerte
Aborto Tardío
Aborto espontaneo de un feto entre la semana 14 y 20
Mortinato
Cuando el feto muere dentro del útero con un peso mayor 500 gramos, desde la semana 20 o 22, es decir que hubiera podido sobrevivir fuera del útero (MOORE, 2013).
