In case you have a cough, here's a cup of cough tea
This is my favourite cough tea! The kids and most adults love the taste so much that they even drink it without having a cough :-)
Besides the great taste it works really well and will give you relief if you are sick.... Try it out yourself! Here is what you need for 100 g of tea (I alway go for a kilo ;-)):
30 g buckhorn plantain plantago lanceolata
25 g licorice glycyrrhiza echinata
20 g thyme thymus vulgaris
15 g fennel foeniculum vulgare
10 g marshmallow root althaea officinalis
Mix it well - best way with your (clean) hands and lots of happiness :-)
Send the dwarfs into the woods to fetch fresh water from the well... in case of no dwarfs or no well, take tapwater ;-)
Brew one teaspoon per cup for 5 -7 minutes and then find a nice place to sit down and relax! Enjoy the making and the drinking and may all of you stay healthy! Cheers from the Seven Mountains in Germany!
Klingt in der Tat äußerst lecker. Das Rezept probier ich auf jeden Fall aus. Ich musste allerdings erstmal googlen was marshmallow roots sind - cooler Name. :-)
Eibisch :-) hoffe niemand mischt Mausespeck hinein lol
Shared with my followers :-)
:-) thank you @lichtblick!! Planing on posting this tea recipe also in German - maybe I'll manage tonight. Trying out some only English / only German posting.... ;-)
You are welcome. That is why I write always bilingual- found out that fits best for my followers.
That's what I did in the first weeks and then felt how my writing started to get rather hölzern with translating back and forth... so now I'm trying the opposite, maybe just to switch back to how I started in the beginning :-) auf jeden Fall ein großes Danke fürs Teilen und upvoten :-)
Sehr gerne :-)
Do you grow or collect these herbs from the forest? Those dwarfs have very good balancing skills!
fennel and thyme come from my garden and the buckhorn plantain grows in our region all over - so I collect it all spring and summer long. I had some mashmallow growing in my garden, but it was not enough for the tea (so I had to buy some of it) and the same with the licorice, I'm just starting to grow it and hope in some years I'll be able to harvest the amounds I need :-) Those dwarfs are Seven Mountain dwarfs - known for their ballancing skills, haha
This sounds delicious!!! I am so weird. if someone makes me tea - I love it. If I make something for myself - it always ends up to be coffee :(
Oh, but I really recomment you to try this one! So far I posted our families favorite ones - Good-Morning, Good-Night and Cough-Tea ;-) all three are a served here daily... wish I could just hand you a cup :-)
Me too! I know I would love to visit with you!! I am going to check out all recipes and see what I can grow and what I need to order. I often do a tea just by walking around my yard and collecting stuff. - Again, when people are over. Iknow, I am weird and am working on my tea self :)
