Cool, the fires start on their own?

Has there been much veld fires in South Africa this summer?
The fires do spread quite quickly! With soaring temperatures, it's never a good idea to go and have a look close up. It's good you stayed your distance.

They had one in Cape Town again the other day @travelling-two and warnings daily on the news with the extreme heat in the Cape.

Wow, that hot, huh? So, are there any limits or bans on people having braai? We can't imagine so, it's the heart and soul of South African culture especially in the summer. Well stay safe @joanstewart

I think nature is really beautiful
Nice view, you really captured it

These fires can start on their own, too often sadly they are started by human neglect @estherikott from a distance they are beautiful.

Wow that was nice!
I love how you share your picture's details too.

Followed you.

Thanks for the kind words @wilsonblue5

Hello @ianstevenson that for visiting again.

Wow! Reminds me of my army days in Oudtshoorn! Whenever a fire broke out in the mountains we were loaded to go and fight it! All kinds of animals comes past one in a wild dash, but sadly the slow ones weren't so lucky! This was a long time ago but the memories remain! Will Upvote tomorrow! Blessings!

Sad fact of veld fires, the tortoise and cameleon's are some that never get out quick enough, love the Oudshoorn area being so desolate and quiet.

Yes indeed! So sad! Upvoted today as promised! Blessings!

Very interesting

Thanks for visiting @grace234

It could be said "sad beauty" but it belongs to nature.

Sometimes it is meant to be, burning brings in new life @bucipuci

That's what I meant. In order for a new life to come, the old must die

This is such a great shot! I love the stark white column against the blue sky. Thanks for sharing!

Power of natural elements @papacrusher has beauty of it's own
