Travel to Mystery Beach at Simeulue Island, Aceh
In the long holiday at new years, I traveled to the Simeulue Island, a small island located in Aceh. On the first day of my vacation I visited to Mystery beach. Not sure with the name of the beach, but many people call it a mystery beach.
Why is it called a beach of mystery? Because since the tsunami, this beach is feared by the surrounding population because of the haunted that all its residents lost in the tsunami.
This special story is derived from the historical events of Simeulue Island that occurred in 1907. It was a great earthquake that drowned all the inhabitants of the island. It is said that almost all residents on this island died swept away. The lesson continued. The Simeulue community, numbering around 65 thousand people, still remembers the event. Source
To go to Simeulue Island, can be through air path and also through waterway from Meulaboh, and I choose for waterway by using fery boat which takes about 8 hours.
