My trip to China / The second day in Beijing #Part 3

Dear Steemians,

One the second day in Beijing, we went on to visit the Great Wall of China after a visit of a manufacture as this happens in organized group travels.

The Great Wall of China:

The monument filled with history and built to defend the country against the Mongols is the biggest construction ever made by mankind. One very important point is that the stairs are not the same size as we know in our boundaries. The reason for the difference size of the stairs was that, according to our Tour Guide, the Chinese wanted to cut the breath of their enemies and tire them. So once the enemies arrived at the towers, they were no longer in the state to fight.

Below pictures will give you an idea of the extraordinary view in the area. Only 25% of the Great Wall is open to visitors. We had only approximatively 2 hours to visit the spot and I must say by some 32°C at around lunch time, it was quite sufficient.

I am not a freak of selfies and the purpose was to show how high you can quickly be. Needless to say that my legs felt every stair. A good rest was welcome at the end of the day.

Temples in Beijing:

Both temples below have the same function and are name differently. The one is the Temple of Drums and the other one is the Temple of Clocks.

View from on of the emperor´s temples:

I do not recall whichever temple it was. However I found the view on Beijing was worth being shot after a long day.

Answers to previous questions:

• The best seasons to travel to China are Spring from April to May and Autumn from September to October as the temperatures are more convenient.
• Vaccines are not compulsory in every are, they are only recommended. Depending on where you intend to go, it is better to take an malarial treatment prior going there.

• What are the functions of the Temple of Drums and the Temple of Clocks?
