For the non-professionals in the marketing field, there is a common misconception that MARKTING is SELLING, which is not true and I don’t blame anybody for this thinking, I myself used to see it that way until I started my marketing journey.

Every entrepreneur must understand the concept of MARKETING and SELLING because they major factors for the success of any small business to a large one. So relax and take your time to read through this to get a quick and valuable start to this great knowledge to enlighten your darkness.

First of all let’s look at what is MARKETING? Marketing is simply all the processes carried out from identifying a problem and solving the problem with a product or a service SELLING it for a profit while satisfying consumer wants and needs.

On the other hand, SELLING is the act of transferring ownership for a price; it could be a product or service. When we understand that selling is just one part of the marketing process we can then start to create a good marketing plan and strategy to take your business to the next level.

Marketing covers a much broader view of your business on like selling which just focus on transferring your product or service for a price. Marketing considers the whole brand as a whole, selling just focus on bringing in revenue to your business, which is also very important to your business.

In reality SELLING is just a marketing activity just like branding, advertizing, production, pricing, public relation e.t.c but the good thing is that all this works together for a common goal.

So for you to grow your business try understanding that all your Marketing Activities should align to help you achieve your business objectives, it sure would go a long way in growing your small business because that is what the big businesses do.
