Mlinarica Waterfall / Mlinarica Wasserfall (Triglav National Park, Slovenia)

in #photography5 years ago

After my little adventure walk in the Šunikov vodni gaj (Šunik Water Grove) and the mossy stream Šunik I looked at another waterfall on the way home.

Mlinarica Waterfall / Mlinarica Wasserfall
Triglav National Park, Slovenia

In the Soča valley, before the road between Bovec and Kranjska Gora rises to the Vršič pass, it is best to park in the large parking lot a few hundred meters before the path to the waterfall begins (google maps link after the report), and then walk about 300 meters (1,000 feet) along the road until on the left-hand side the Soca Trail can be reached.

Follow this path until you come to a small suspension bridge and turn right after the bridge.

From there you have to walk a few hundred meters in the forest along the creek and finally to an observation deck, from which you can see the Mlinarica gorge and the 8 meter high waterfall below the platform.

Of course you can also go down to the waterfall and, like me, go in the creek bed instead of on the way.

Unfortunately, it was still too dark there in the morning, so I did not take any photos of the gorge.

The Mlinarica waterfall was nice, but not really spectacular.

Somehow I liked the small cascading waterfalls in the stream after the Mlinarica waterfall better.

The high valley Mlinarica is located between the mountains Prisojnik and Razor. The stream Mlinarica, after making its way through the gorge, flows into the Soča.

The Mlinarica gorge is about one kilometer (3,300 ft) long and 100 meters (330 ft) deep. Some places are only about a meter (3 ft) wide. The gorge is very difficult to access, and only with special diving equipment.

After the green and moss-covered Šunik brook, where I have been to shortly before, this barren and rocky gorge has of course been a big contrast.

Such a wonderful series of shots, that bridge looks like it needs a bit of repair, thanks for sharing this beautiful spot with us

Good morning and thank you so much, JJ 😀
That's quite a difference to the mossy rocks and waterfalls, where I have been only about half an hour before I got to this spot, isn't it?
On the photos I have seen in the internet, this waterfall seemed to be much bigger. Maybe I need new glasses 😁

Ohh yeah thats such a difference isnt nature amazing like that Maybe on the internet people got if from a very low or odd angle which made it look a lot bigger than it actually is

BTW I did get to try the M10 today around midday at the duck POnd, very happy with it I must say :)

... or I just didn't look enough ;)
I have just seen your waterfall image taken with the M10 system - looks great, I am impressed.
Hopefully I can try mine out today. I am at my parents house, and yesterday we had a small forest fire on the rocks on the other side of the valley. Hopefully some of the shots I took with the long lens are sharp enough for my post tonight.

I am sure you looked more than enough :) the fire sounds interesting well interesting for the photos I hope no one was hurt in it

It was just a small fire, but the area was very steep in the rock face, and they needed until yesterday afternoon, until all the embers were extinguished. No one was hurt :)

Thats greta that no one was hurt I see from your post how it was such an awkward area so good they had the helicopter and water buckets to take care of it

Right, and it was raining last night, so that all rests of the fire should be dead by now.

Beautiful waterfall surrounding with a lot of green trees! Like you, "I like the small cascading waterfalls in the stream after the Mlinarica waterfall better", too. The first photo is my most favorite.

The place looks refreshing and great for relaxing indeed. Thanks so much for sharing. ;)

Oh, you like bridges? I have to remember that :)

The small things, like these little waterfalls don't get noticed by the people, but they are so beautiful, much more beautiful than many of the big waterfalls. But I don't mind, when people don't see their beauty, because it means for me to shoot unique photos 😊

You're welcome, thank you so much for your nice comment, @tangmo.

You are much welcome!

Yeah! At the first glance, the bridge can attract my eyes. I like that it's natural old wood and it stays among nice nature.... I think, it's perfect for this place! ;)

I agree with you, these little waterfalls look more beautiful than many of the big waterfalls. Your unique photos are always wonderful....I like them all! ;))

Thank you so much, @tangmo 😊
I often try to photograph places, which nobody knows, or photograph well known places from different angles or just different from the others :)

You're welcome! ;)

Yeah! That's great! And I think, that's the main reason why I like your photos! ;))

Thank you so much @tangmo - such words are always a great pleasure to read 😊

Wow, thank you so much, @travelfeed, I really appreciate it a lot 😊

Great place for you to relax. Never been interested. And where are you from? From Slovenia?

Right, this place and the places I showed before are great for relaxing and forget the daily life :) I am from Carinthia in Austria and Slovenia is only half an hour away.

There are so many streams and waterfalls in this area, and each looks a bit or even much different from the other :)
Thank you so much, Ross, have a great day :)
