Wednesday Walk detailed / Mittwochsspaziergang detailliert
On my #WednesdayWalk today, I took only my macro lens with me. | Bei meinem heutigen Spaziergang habe ich nur mein Makroobjektiv mitgenommen. |
Common Scorpion Fly
Panorpa communis
Gemeine Skorpionsfliege
It starts today with the Common Scorpion Fly (Panorpa communis), a female specimen that lacks the genital segment at the end of the abdomen, which looks like the sting of a scorpion (see Wikipedia link after the photos). |

Thank you so much for your support, dear @pixresteemer 😊
Again beautiful macro shots @Johannpiber. Love macro shots of insects to see the details of these small (irritating) animals.
Thank you very much @tijntje, I somehow like to shoot macros more than landscapes at the moment - it's just a bit more fun to search the insects and then to try to get sharp photos :)
Stunning macro wow!
Thank you very much for your nice comment and also for resteeming my post 😊
You are most welcome Joann 😊
😊
Never seen such fly. Photos are awesome as ever.
Thank you so much @nelinoeva 😀
This fly is quite common here, but I must admit, that I have not known it's name, and I did not know, how it really looked like, before I photographed it with the macro lens 😎

Gosh! You manage to make these insects looking very elegant and handsome!
I did know this fly before, but I never really looked at it, until yesterday 😁
Thank you so much @kaminchan, shooting macro photos makes more fun, than I have thought 😆

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Until a few hours ago, I didn't even know the name of this fly 😉
This lens makes a lot of fun, thank you JJ 😊
From what your getting it’s a great lens I hope this weekend to get out with my macro lens the forecast is still looking good for the weekend
Our weather seems to get bad this weekend, we'll see, but this is the reason, why I want to go to Slovenia tomorrow morning. Maybe I can shoot a sunrise in the mountains and a waterfall in the Soca valley :)
Sounds like a good plan you have for tomorrow good luck
😴😏🏍 🇸🇮 📷 🌅 🏍 💧 📷🏍👍😎
Thank you :)
Most welcome
😎👍😎
I see why they call it Scorpion fly! Does it sting?
I don't think so, because it's the genital segment 😎

You are getting a lot of wonderful insect macros. Bravo:)
Oh, there will be more - I have just found the joy of macro photography - thank you so much, Pryde 😊
I used to be scared of scorpion flies but it turns out they don't sting. This one looks pretty exotic to me, the ones around here are all tan with clear wings.

I must admit, that I have never really looked at them before I began with macro photography.
Maybe your scorpion flies are relatives, because ours all look like this one.
