The Way Your Soul Sings
Frosty winter stars
Gleaming in the heights…
By day, a lovely Maple
Glittering red
In bright sunlight
By night, a snowy whisper
Sifting
Past the window light.
Perhaps I’m dreaming,
Imagining,
As my soul takes
Flight;
It could be the wind—
Even a sigh—
But I’m sure
It’s your soul singing,
Through the mid-November night.

Thank you so much!
Beautiful prose, @johnjgeddes! It has a haunting musical quality, like the lyrics of a song. Excellent choice of a painting to go with your words as well.
