Hello everyone, I wanted to write about technology a few days ago but couldn't due to a lot of other emergencies that came up. Well I want to still write about this today.

There have been a whole lot of stories about Web3. Whenever people hear about the Web3, they think only about cryptocurrency. But I will be giving a more general knowledge on the Web3 initiative.

What is Web3?

Before I can lay more emphasis on the web 3, I have to first delve into the first website that were used/currently used.

• Web1.0

The best thing that has happened to humans in the last 100 years, is the creation of a computer. The computer has changed a whole lot of things about how we view the world.
With time information and contents were stored in a cloud which could be retrieved and downloaded. This is what was called the Web 1.0, the first generation of the internet services.

• Web2.0

But the web 1.0 had certain setbacks, which meant there was need for improvement; data couldn't be altered. People could only download data and couldn't interact. This gave rise to the web 2.0 which is currently widely in use. The web 2.0 brought a new dynamic to internet services and data. people could interact on the internet, exchange data and all sort of things that are done presently. But in every innovation, there is always need for improvement, an improvement which will soon change the world again.

One of the outstanding setbacks seen with the web2.0 is centralisation of data. Since the web 2.0 is controlled by centralised agencies, this means they can do whatever they want to do with the data we leave with them. We don't feel secure with the web 2.0. There was need for a decentralised system.

• Web3.0

The blockchain gave rise to the Web 3.0 initiative. This is a network that can be used to exchange data over the internet without having to pass through a third party. Web 3.0 is the third generation of web which brings to us secured, reliable and fast approach of exchanging data.

The Web 3.0 is not only limited to cryptocurrency alone, it brings a whole new level of internet services.

The web 3.0 will be a platform which will be used to build reliability in ownership of media. For example: Photos taken by a person won't be plagiarised by another, data/information stored and written by a person won't be stolen by another.
This and many more is what the Web3.0 is bringing to us.

But with this advantages Also could come disadvantages, which could be falling into the web of bad actors. Some bad actors will use the web3.0 to also dupe people since it is a decentralised system.

But notwithstanding, Web3.0 holds a great future and if utilized in the right way, will open new doors.
