Quotation Galatians(2: 4. 5)

Now this matter arose because of the false brethren, who slipped in secretly into the church, to spy out on our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us under bondage. But we did not surrender to them even for a moment, in order that the truth of the gospel would remain with you

The Bible speaks of false prophets and pastors and apostles and men of God and the danger they pose to the work of God and the Body of Christ. And the Bible doesn't end there. For if they are false men of God, then there are also false Christians. And the Bible does not shy away from the danger these false brethren or believers pose to the church of God and the Christians in general. Apostle Paul had to confront this problem in his days.
In the early church, these false Christians were zealous Judaizers who had come into the church, and professed to be disciples and followers of Christ. They didn't see salvation by grace for the non-Jews in Christ, but insisted that the gentiles must keep circumcision and the whole laws of Moses in order to be saved or justified by God. The unfortunate thing was that, these issues were a contentious theological issue and hotly debated by the Apostle to the Gentiles, Paul on one hand and his counterparts, the Apostles to the Jews.
We thank God that Paul who was a Judaizer himself, but upon the revelations he received from the Lord Jesus Christ, stood his grounds and didn't surrender to them, in order that the truth of the gospel of Christ might remain pure and continue to remind true and by grace and not by the works or deeds of the law as it is preached all over the world..
In our day, the false Christians have evolved and turned to a different thing, opposite of the spirit of the true Christians, they carry a certain traits by which we can identify them

- they cause divisions, schism and troubles in the Church, anywhere they go

- they defile people through gossip and
rumours they peddle around

- they pretend a lot and are people pleasers

- they are legalistic and insist on having their way

- most of them are carnal and sensual too

In Paul's days, their goal, knowingly or unknowingly, was to bring christians under bondage to the law and traditions of the Jews, the very thing Jesus on the cross had redeemed us from and granted to us liberty through grace.. Paul had tasted the two, and stand ready for the liberty of the Body of Christ, especially for the gentile Christians.

We also should not surrender our liberty in Christ to these false Christians, though they use this liberty as a license for sensual and carnival living. We should not allow them to defile and contaminate us with their falsehood and pretense, and break down the Spirit of unity and fellowship among the true Christians. For they seek to isolate us from Christ, our Lord.
So as you go through life, watch out for these false Christians, and do not surrender to their error.

May you stand on the grounds of grace and walk in the liberty in Christ and become all that the Lord called you to be in Him.
May blessing of His grace and liberty fill your life this week in Jesus name. Amen

Thank you Father for your manifold grace and the blessing of liberty granted to us in Christ Jesus. May we not surrender to these false Christians who aim at dividing us and isolating us from Christ. May we not follow their error and evil ways, but follow the Lord Jesus Christ to the end. Grant to us Lord, protection and provision for our day in Jesus name. Amen
